Evaluation and Assessment System

Assessment system in SMK King George V is based on

a. Average point value (APV), average grade point value (AGPV), cummulative average point value (CAPV) and cummulative average grade point value (CAGPV).

b. Assessment based on PMR for Form 1 - 3, assessment based on SPM for Form 4 -5 and assessment based on STPM for Lower and Upper Six.

Rationale in implementation of CAPV and CAGPV

1. To indicate academic achievement of students based on point value and grade point value system without giving the position of them in the class.

2. Combine all the assessment for the whole year and get the cummulative average point and grade for each student.

Objectives

1. Students will not feel degraded as what is happening in the old system which makes position of students in the class as a priority.

2. Easier and more efficient way to scrutinize performance of students for the whole year which covers 3 years for lower secondary and 2 years for upper secondary if needed.

3. Students' results will be more accurate and not biased because all the assessments for the whole year are taken into account at the end of the year.
