  • Major Achievements - SMK KGV has won many competitions, from district to international level. Notable achievements include the National Best Resource Centre Award, the Ministry of Education's Outstanding Quality Award, Champion in the Maxis CyberlinQ competition 2004, Runners up in Toyota Eco Youth 2005, 3rd placing in the Maxis Cyberlinq Competition 2006.
    School Builiding - Built in 1928 according to British Architecture . During the war, It was used as a hospital by the British and later by the Japanese.

    KGV was the first school in the state to own a swimming pool. The 25m pool was built under the able leadership of Principal K. Anandarajan. The pool was declared open in 1969.

    All state swimming competitions ( MSSNS ) was held here until better pools were built in Seremban.

    This 20m tunnel links the main building with the school field, running underneath the main road. It was built in 1928 according to British Architecture.
    The balcony in the school hall shows British influence.

    Clock tower

    There are 4 clocks which can be viewed from different sides. It strikes every hour, and can be heard from afar. (At the moment, the clock is not in working condition. We welcome anyone who can sponsor its repair )

    So far the principal of KGV has always been a man..

    The school had Britons as Principal before

    The first school in the state to own a swimming pool. It was declared open in 1969 by His Majesty,
    Yang Di Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan

    The only school in Negeri Sembilan to have a Clock Tower.

    The only school in Negeri Sembilan with a tunnel to link the main school building with the school field. The tunnel and school building has been classified as Heritage Building.

    During the war, the school was used as a military center by The Royal Australian Army . During the Japanese occupation it was used as a hospital.

    During 2nd world war, students had to be relocated . Among the places used was Kelab Negeri Sembilan and Kelab Melayu.

    The school song was re-composed and hand-written by Peter Ng Kong Choon. Lyrics by Peter Ng Kong Choon and K. Anandarajan. The original version is still being sung in English today.

    The motto of the school is taken from a quote by Julius Caesar “Veni, Vedi, Vici” which means "I came, I saw and I conquered”.

    The cross in the school badge was replaced by a V.

    School hours used to follow the train schedule. School starts at 9.40am with the arrival of the morning train and finishes at 2.40pm when the afternoon train depart.

    SMK KGV played host to " Kongres Bahasa dan Persuratan Melayu 2" which was held from the 1st till 2nd JanuarY 1954.
